How can I get to know myself?

from “Morya Wisdom 2: Simplicity”

Most people look only to the outside world and yet it isn’t as important. The inner world is the most important. If you can realise this you will be able to experience great changes in this inner world during the course of even this one lifetime. Try to pay attention to your inner world. You don’t need to understand everything, just try to give it your attention.

The inner world is the most important.

You don’t need to understand everything, just try to give it your attention.

Be attentive to your own thoughts

Take note of the feelings that pass through you and also take note of the thoughts that come to you and that actually show you who you are. Because even though you are not the initiator of your thoughts – no matter what you may think, thoughts overcome you – they do show you who you are, for there are some thoughts you accept and others not.

Take note of the feelings that pass through you and also take note of the thoughts that come to you.

Observe yourself during the coming days. If you are alert you will notice that, of the many things passing through your mind, some take your attention while others just pass by without your even noticing them.

It would be interesting to try to slow down your thoughts so you could see with what you are actually keeping yourself busy. You would then become aware of the speed at which thoughts race through your mind and realise it’s impossible to take account of them all. Still, you should remain alert for everything."

Try to slow down your thoughts so you can see with what you are actually keeping yourself busy.

How can I transform myself?

from “Morya Wisdom 1: A deeper sense of life”
(Geert Crevits) © Mayil.com

The first transformation to take place must be that of the mind. The thinking mind must, as it were, be left behind. The mind should be transformed by taking in the values. It shouldn’t mirror itself on all those things circling around it – the thoughts – thus attracting more thoughts and always more thoughts. No, the transformation must originate from the values of the heart. The heart must gain in value and with this value it will be able to transform the thoughts.

The mind should be transformed by taking in the values of the heart.

Then you will suddenly begin to think differently about everything you have ever thought. You will realise how outworn all your thoughts were. If you could read your own diary you’d realise it relates only very transitory matters that weren’t even really beautiful. As your heart changes, you begin to dislike the poetry you, yourself, had written. You will discover there are other things to learn, other words to speak and other elements to bring up in your life, and suddenly you have a totally new vision of life, one filled with beauty and one you never before dared to imagine.

To the extent your heart changes, so will your mind change, and your thoughts will melt and fuse with the values you experience in your heart. This is the real transformation of the mind.

Suddenly you have a totally new vision of life, one filled with beauty.

The heart knows

You’ll find your mind having less and less to process because the heart already understands what is coming to it. The heart knows before any words have been spoken. A person comes to you and before he has finished speaking you already know what he has to say and what the problem is.

In your heart you know everything. This means: the heart speaks in silence, it knows. The heart is the only part of your being that will reach true understanding.

You’ll find your mind having less and less to process because the heart already understands what is coming to it.

Your mind will translate for your heart; it will translate the knowledge in your heart.

The true knowledge lies hidden in your heart. The true treasure of life lies in the heart. True peace lies in the heart. The true consciousness lies in the heart. The warmth of your existence lies in the heart.

When you share this warmth with others there will never come an end to this transference of warmth. Understand this and you will never become exhausted, for your heart will always keep going, almost automatically.

The true knowledge lies hidden in your heart. True peace lies in the heart.

You must never be afraid your heart will run out of nourishment for those who come to you. It will always speak in a meaningful way for others and thereby you actually become who you are. A life without heart is really not a life."

How can I go forward? How should I act, what should I do?

from “Morya Wisdom 1: A deeper sense of life”
(Geert Crevits) © Mayil.com

A reaction is not an action

Actions are born out of a state of balance. When you are out of balance there can be no action. Then there is only a certain reaction but that is not a real action.

An action can only take place when you are well balanced, when you are quiet, when you are reflecting on things, when you are in harmony with yourself. Then you are truly acting; you are carrying out a conscious deed.

An action can only take place when you are well balanced, when you are quiet, when you are reflecting on things, when you are in harmony with yourself.

Many people may well be living and yet they never really act. They are not really giving their attention to what they are doing. They live automatically and they react to things, but this is not real action.

So you can see that there are various elements in you that clash with each other and so create chaos. The result is that you react to this and that but you never take a real action.

What you do makes your life

You should come to the point of being able to really act and also you should be able to overview the whole of your actions.

Unless you become conscious of your life, whatever you do is of no importance. The action is primordial. It is what you do in your life that makes your life – not what you think.

You might well object and say that what one thinks is important and I won’t deny it, yet it remains a fact that what you do is much more important than your thoughts.

What you do is much more important than your thoughts.

(...)

Reflect upon your goal

You should take the time to look at yourself and your life’s goal. If you can perceive this goal, you will realize that taking actions, taking conscious actions that serve your goal, becomes easier and easier.

For this you need a clear mind. You have to think, but your thoughts should be in relation to your goal.

First, think carefully about what it is that you really want to do with your life. By doing this, certain ideas about your life will become clear in your mind.

If you can perceive your life’s goal. taking conscious actions that serve your goal becomes easier and easier.

One idea is different from the other and in this sense, what you think is important. Nevertheless, in the end, the action always remains the most important thing. By acting you express the idea and you create your own reality.

Don’t get stuck in ideas

There are many people who get stuck in their ideas and never proceed to action. And here they are making a mistake because they are wasting energy, energy which we should see as something awaiting birth. It is a power trying to manifest itself here on Earth. (...)"

About expressing thoughts

from “Morya Wisdom 1: A deeper sense of life”
(Geert Crevits) © Mayil.com

Expressing this self is not easy at first because you will find that you express your thoughts. But then ask yourself, “Are these really my thoughts or am I thinking things that the other wants me to think and saying things that he or she wants me to say?” and herein lies the difference.

In this way it is possible to spend much time, maybe years, simply reiterating what others say and never really saying what you yourself would like to say. And here again is the difficulty."
